We (my husband and I) got back on Sunday night from a long weekend visiting with his brother and family. We were invited down to celebrate my sister-in-law's 40th birthday and to spend a weekend catching up with the family. About three or four years ago, JE (brother) and AE (sister-in-law) quit their jobs, sold their house, packed up their family (three kids, 10,8 & 6) and moved to Los Angeles to start a new career as a camera man and movie editor. JE had to go to film school for a year while the family stayed up here (Sacramento) packing up everything, but when he graduated they all moved down there into a tiny two bedroom apartment to live their dreams.
Over the past few years, I have watched them go from strength to strength, growing together as a family, struggling through challenges, but never giving up, finding delight in new adventures and friends. It's been incredibly inspiring to watch and after this past weekend, I found myself wanting what they have. Now I have a wonderful life and am truly blessed, but I'm not entirely living the dreams that I have. And I found myself wanting to live day to day doing the things that I dream and think about.
So I made a decision. Everyday I will post about something I have made. As you will come to know, I love anything crafty: paper, stamps, yarn, knitting, crochet, ink, paint, glitter (I have an abnormal love of glitter), etc. I also love dogs and books and running and food and ... I am going to make my dreams and ideas a reality. Every now and then something I make will end up in my etsy shop, but most of the time I will just want to share something of my life with you.
What are you doing today to realize a dream that you have?
